The Laughing Court is one of the seven active Bleak Courts of Arcadia, formed in the early Dark Age. It was founded by the Fey God, The Bitter Queen, c. NIR 1370. It was previously part of The Court of Intrigue that was dissolved through a schism, in which The Bitter Queen was the leader of one faction. The Court is one of the ten active Midnight Courts.

The Court is an exploration of the Strange Essence of Passion. It is founded on a philosophy of reactions. The Bitter Queen believes that meaning is only seen in reflections of self, what reactions one can evoke. She is obsessed with ridicule and ostracization. The Court is populated by Sprites.
