OLD NOTES
On Pelithos, the ur-species of fey were awakened Alseids (elves) in the plains and fields of Dytikos, quickly spreading to those of Antolikos Oreads in the Fidion, Synnephian, Kyterian, and Pagosian mountains Dryads in the potamian forests, including the pre-vaultland Aphxanamos Neriads in the boreal isles, quickly spreading to all coasts and isles Quicklings (Grigora) in the fertile eastern lands of Antolikos Sprites (Pterae) from no known homeland, but quickly spreading everywhere As nations and tribes arise, they group loosely into the Morning and Evening Courts.
Satyrs (from quicklings)
Pythians (from oreads)
Harpies (from alseids)
Kynokephaloi (from alseids)
Psarikampoi (from neriads)
Apisids (from sprites)
Elaphids (from dryads)
Alseids
- Elves, ur-shard-species
- A number of distinct, regional cultures existed, though they spread and blended in many places
- oreads (synnephian ori), dryads (potamia, cypress coast), neriads (thalassa velos isles), esperides (esperines and western dytikos), limnades (eastern Antolikos, Erimia), auloniades (phidion coast, eastern dytikos, epolosia)
- Oread and dryad came to refer to the fury-mutated descendants of those cultures.
- The other terms remain, with Alseid as the blanket term for the species.
- Sub-species
- Pligian Alseids (Queensplague)
- Dro-on (Night mutation)
- Naiads (interbred with / shepherded by Chemaros)
Alseid Ferals
- Satyr (goat)
- Pythians (serpent)
- Harpies (bird)
- Kynokephaloi (jackals)
- Psarikampoi (fish, sharks)
- lycanthropes continue to occur, but there are also some leftover 1st gen lycans (since fey are ageless), they are super-powerful and thoroughly soaked in the Long Night. "Moon-beasts", some of the legendary monsters of Pelithos (Nemean Lion, etc)
- 2nd gen lycans mellow enough to form social groups with others of their kind.
- 3rd gen lycans are ferals, fixed in form, sane in mind. In many places, they are second class citizens in societies ruled by 2nd gen lycans.
Dryads
- As the Aphxanamos grew, the fey of the dryad culture of Potamia was changed by exposure, becoming plant-like. The term dryad came to refer to the species.
- Sub-species
- Nightshade Dryads (Night mutation)
- Pligian Dryads (Queensplague)
- Dendric Dryads (drank the Elixir of Sleep)
Oreads
- As the Synnephion grew, the fey of the oread culture of Potamia was changed by exposure, becoming stone-like (marble-statue-like, of various colors), larger / stronger / tougher. The term oread came to refer to the species.
- After the first titanomachia, oreads settled in the kyterian ori and golden waste; through now fairly resistant to fury, they did take on a distinct appearance from its influence, more tawny sandstone and dark basalt and obsidian.
- Sub-species
- Pligian Oreads (Queensplague)
- Moonstone Oreads (Night mutation)
- Lithic Oreads (drank the Elixir of Sleep)
Outlanders
- humans (mostly from acrolonian invasion), orcs, dwarves
- minotaurs (nor feral)
- Demonbloods (interbred with demons; human derived mostly, some derived from alseids or others)
- Azer / Dactyloi (dwarf mutants)
??? Centaur Nyxian Centaurs (intentional Night mutation by the Helm)
Tritons (migration into the Strange Sea) Vathys (Obyrith-warped) Proteans (Fall and Night mutation)
Grimm (stone Nor) Myrmidons (Fall mutation)
Lamia
- interbred with Codex servitors; or maybe this is a type of independent pattern servitor? or hybrid?
- or maybe they are succubus-pythian hybrid infiltrators from the invasion, now a lingering demonic presence
