Suentius was born a mortal Ning of Acrolon in the late Shattered Age. He was a Paragon of Persuasion, and as a pirate-merchant of Mercatia he received all of the training needed to maximize his potential, becoming one of the most influential mortals in Acrolon. He was also a powerful Herald of Pattern who built an trade empire of information brokering. Uniting countless companies of pirates and merchants, the trade empire he built became the kingdom of Mercatia, with Suentius as its merchant king and ruler.
His achievements as a mortal caught the attention of the Founders, who were recruiting powerful mortals to aid in the Carceri Incursion. In exchange for his assistance, he was elevated to become the God of Pattern after Thaumir was killed. During the Dark Age he used his influence to aid the enemies of Lascivia.
