Ancient Courts (Commonspeak) refers to the oldest age of the Fey Courts of Arcadia.

Begins with the founding of The Court of Four, founded by The Keening Women, c. NIR 200. The second Ancient Court was The Court of Alignment, founded by The Two-Fold Queen, c. NIR 370. The third and final Ancient Court was The Forgotten Court, founded by The King Who Never Was, c. NIR 420.

The age of Ancient Courts occurred for a variety of reasons, but one consistent theme is a deep connection between the Elves of Pelithos and The Strange Sea. Most scholars this began during Zero Year, with the formation of the The White Tree which connected the divinity of Pelithos with Strange. Some Elves just seemed to be born with an innate, incurable fascination with Strange, and its exploration led to the discovery of Arcadia and the subsequent ascension of Fey Gods that founded the Ancient Courts.

The consequences of the Ancient Courts is far-reaching and profound. They became the forebearers of an entire Strange realm and cultivated an entire society and metaphysic around Strange meaning. The people, legends, myths, gods, powers, cults, dreams, and nightmares of the Ancient Courts still echo around the universe.
