The Laughing Court is one of the seven Bleak Courts and ten Midnight Courts of Arcadia, formed in the early Dark Age. It was founded by the Fey God, The Bitter Queen, who explores the Strange Essence of Passion.
She founded the Court on a philosophy of reflected significance. She believed that meaning came from magnitude of the reaction something causes. The Court was populated by the Sprites. It was formed after a philosophical schism tore The Court of Intrigue apart, shortly after The War of Erasure.
It is opposed by The Weeping Court.
