The Upper Court was one of the Midnight Courts and Bright Courts of Arcadia, renamed in the early Dark Age. It was renamed by the Fey God, The Cartographer Queen, c. NIR 1360. It was previously known as The Court of Here. It was later fused with The Court of Yesterday as part of The Concordance, c. NIR 1750, to become one of the Concordant Courts, called The Upper Court of Yesterday.

The Court was still an exploration of the Strange Essence of Location. It was still founded on a philosophy of meaning through a precise arrangement of things. The Cartographer Queen's obsession expanded after The War of Erasure, however, to include not only games of position, but strategies to win those games. The Court was still populated by Trolls.
