The Laughing Court is one of the seven active Bright Courts of Arcadia, formed in the early Dark Age. It was founded by the Fey God, The Thespian Queen, c. NIR 1370. It was previously part of The Court of Intrigue that was dissolved through a schism, in which The Thespian Queen was the leader of one faction. The Court is one of the ten active Midnight Courts.
The Court is an exploration of the Strange Essence of Passion. It is founded on a philosophy of lies. The Thespian Queen believes that meaning is only discovered through discarding a sense of truth, as there is no true self to perceive it. She is obsessed with inauthenticity and facades. The Court is populated by Dopplegangers.
