Etymology

Destiny (Enchiridian) was one of the nine Template:Category Grand Designs of the Integrum, named for its governance over the qualities of time and space.

Lore

While most of the Grand Designs are well understood, being maintained and operated by Template:Category Gods, Template:Category Servitors, and Template:Category Heralds, Destiny is an exception. Almost nothing is understood about Destiny, since it was largely destroyed in The Shattering. The Template:Category Shard Gods of Destiny did not inherit a knowledge of their domains as the Shard Gods of other domains had, and the Servitors of Destiny disappeared. As a result, few know how the Grand Design of Destiny was meant to function, and none have been able to repair it.

Divine Machines

Each of the Grand Designs is implemented in the Integrum through one or more Founder technologies, collectively called the Template:Category Divine Machines.

The Orrery

The only known Divine Machine of Destiny was the Orrery. This massive machine was an armature that connected the celestial bodies of the Integrum and governed their movement. It is through this governance of movement that the Orrery mediated the Grand Design of Destiny.

The Orrery was destroyed during The Shattering at the end of the Template:Category Gilded Age. Whether the destruction of the Orrery caused the creation of the Template:Category Shards or whether the creation of the Shards caused the destruction of the Orrery is not known, though it is widely believed that these two events are causally related.

It is claimed by the Template:Category Arcanists that the Orrery had many other arms, smaller and invisible, parts of The Apparatus that govern the movement of every physical form in the Integrum. Whether these invisible armatures are still connected to the Orrery in some meaningful, functional way is not known.
