Wodhain walking among The Runestones of Acrolon.

Overview

Wodhain (Old Nor \ˈwoʊdheɪn\) is a name with no semantic meaning. Lore about Wodhain is rare and incomplete, as little is known of the origins of the Shard Gods.

History

Wodhain awakened alone in a windswept basin of stone pillars etched with still-mysterious runes, a place now known as The Runestones. It is said that Wodhain sacrificed his right eye at the pillars in order to gift Humans with the Old Nor language. Wodhain's most famous achievement was the Codex Spiral, a way to connect Shards through thought.

Wodhain was slain by Fenrir, an act which started The First Godswar.

Description

Wodhain appeared as a sharp-boned man with deep wrinkles. He wore a storm-grey robe, covered in runes. His left eye burned with purple light while right socket lay empty, like a night sky. He walked with a staff made from the Rain Heart. His body cast multiple shadows.

Personality

Wodhain was described as an inscrutable, patient, and distant personality. Though he loved language, he would rarely use it himself, preferring silence and reflection. When he did talk, it was often in riddles and poetry, as if channeling a dream. He despised lies, and felt that it was the capacity for falsehood that was the root of all evil that would unravel The Integrum.

Abilities

Wodhain was personally incredibly powerful, as all Shard Gods. In addition to incredible strength, agility, and toughness, his control over Pattern gave him powers of thought, language, and memory.

Exarchs
