- Natural part of The Integrum, required for mediating concepts through sleep (everything with a mind sleeps)
- Normal functioning sleep roads act like conceptual circuits
- Sleep roads connect to a Nexus where all Realms of Sleep connect
- Sleep roads are like Forgehearts, in that they are discrete nodes with Integral Servitors / guides / protectors
- After Shattering, Realms of Sleep flood with Strange waters, which create an increasing depth of off-road Strange corruption
- Sleepers going off road experience Dreams, a whole new thing, and if Strange is not scrubbed from the sleeping mind before waking, they go mad
- Wodhain invents Dream Gates at the ends of Integral Sleep Roads to scrub Strange off and reduce madness, collaborates through Nexus with other Pattern gods so they get them too
- After the fall, Suentius invents the City of Slumber at the Nexus, which causes / is caused by Enchridian and allows true mental and physical (if you're bodily in the Dreamlands) travel between Shards
- Physical travel between Shard and Dreamland is not normally possible, but if a region of Shard is Strange corrupted, one can circumvent the Dream Gate and actually transport bodily between realms
- Sleep Roads can also be Fury corrupted, whether by damage or deliberate interference
- Fury Roads begin to express the thought essences of Titans, e.g. nightmares in Lonely Hollow corrupted Fury Roads
