Overview

Bogshade (Enchiridian is named for thick jungle canopy and copious wetlands. Lore about Bogshade is partial but accurate. It is reasonably well mapped, and studied by scholars and historians.

History

In the early Shattered Age, this island was known as Estfen (Nortongue \ˈɛstfɪn\ for east swamp). In the Dark Age, this island became known as Mochalak (Darktongue, \ˈmoʊʧɑˌlɑk\ for little swamp).

Populations

Dustmere has a population of 800, across 2 Feral villages and a fortress. There are no roads, only light trails. The northern village is Ranine and the southern is Viverrine. Both are uncharacteristically vegetarian and peaceful for cultural reasons.

Geography

The island is entirely flat, low wetland. Most of the terrain is treed swamp, with strips of marsh on the west and north coasts. Three large lakes dot the center of the island.

Economy

The island is owned by House Viridian, who exploit the natural resources through employing labor from the Feral villages. Resources from the island are rich and varied, including spices, herbs, teas, exotic fruit, medicines, dyes, and drugs.
