Overview

The Empire of Acrolon (Enchiridian), or simply the Empire for short, is named for its shard-spanning scale. The name Acrolon comes from a combination of Imperial and Feytongue meaning far and wide. Lore about the Empire of Acrolon is abundant and accurate. As the largest Mortal faction in the history of the universe, it has been the focus of enormous amounts of historical scholarship.

History

The Empire of Acrolon was founded at the end of The Realm War in the Shattered Age, as part of the peace accord that ended the war. It technically persisted through the end of the Dark Age, though it was unrecognizable by its collapse. May scholars say that the original Empire of Acrolon fell at the beginning of the Dark Age, when it was subverted by the God of Summer, Lascivia.

Governance

The government of the Empire of Acrolon was an egalitarian, representational meritocracy. The ruling council was made up of members from each of the dominant factions of the Shards. There were also ministries for specific concerns, such as security, commerce, and knowledge. These ministries were also made up of councils from each of the shards.

It was through these ministries that the governance of the Empire interfaced with the governance of the individual factions that comprised the Empire.

Society

Imperial society was extremely diverse, inclusive, and tolerate. It had to be, since it spanned the races and cultures of four shards. While the cultures of the shards were permitted plenty of latitude to govern themselves according to their local customs, there were some aspects of society that were universal under the Empire. These included fundamental rights based on self-determination and exclusions of specific forms of injustice that impaired those rights.

Economics

The Empire of Acrolon was the wealthiest faction in the history of the Integrum. By combining the resources of four mortal shards in a collaborative manner, and with the incredible efficiencies of moving surpluses between regions using Shard Gates and Patternsails, the Empire was known for incredible prosperity.

Geography

The Empire of Acrolon spanned the majority of four shards: Goroku, Khasutet, Norheim, and Pelithos.

Members

The Empire of Acrolon considered as its citizens nearly all members of the four mortal races: Dwarves, Fey, Humans, and Orcs.
