Summary
It should be noted that the participants in this campaign were teenagers.
The game had a main thread following an elven druid protagonist named "Cutter", after the player's favorite character from the graphic novel series Elf Quest. At that time, the world used a re-interpreted Forgotten Realms map for its geography. Cutter had a couple of companions: an NPC named "Shuriken", and a PC named "Trevor". He also had a romantic interest, whose frequent capture at the hands of various evil creatures fueled much of the story.
Cutter traversed many famous 1st edition modules and across the red, blue, teal, black, and gold boxes of D&D rules. He defeated many famous adversaries, including arch devils and demon princes. He also participated in an adventuring gauntlet called "The Maze of Infinity" which earned him a place among the Immortals (PC characters who could contribute, in character, to the game world). He was the named the Immortal of Earth.
The campaign featured many other side stories, with other characters as protagonists.
Canon
Cutter is canonized as one of the Immortals of the Lost Age. His party of adventurers (Trevor and Shuriken) were his Immortal Host. The specifics of his adventures are recontextualized in canon to be part of the Contest Eternal.
