Overview

Ydalla (Nortongue \iˈdɔlə\) is a name with no semantic meaning. Lore about Ydalla is rare and incomplete, as little is known of the origins of the Shard Gods.

History

Ydalla was awakened at the dawn of the Shattered Age under a cherry tree in a regal garden on an overgrown, abandoned estate on the island now known as Arborline. Her tenure as God of Spring was brief. Before her death, she crafted the Ninefold Seeds, rare artifacts that can produce entire Integral ecosystems. No one knows where they all are located. Arborline acted as her Spring nursery, where she studied and tweaked the way that living things grew. It has since become overgrown.

Before The Realm War, Ydalla met Anastasia when she was still a mortal girl. Ydalla was so moved by Anastasia's Gift that she sacrificed herself so that the Founders could invest Anastasia with her Divine Focus, elevating Anastasia to God of Spring.

Description

Ydalla appeared as a tall and beautiful young woman with olive tan skin. She always smiled happily, but tears streamed endlessly from her eyes. Where her tears landed, flowers and plants bloomed. Her long hair changed like the seasons: green, gold, red, and white. Here eyes were water blue. She wore a flowing, multi-colored robe and carried a crystal chalice.

Personality

Ydalla was gentle, but not soft. She understood that pain was required for birth and growth. She treated The Integrum like a gardener would a garden. She trusted Death to prune what needed pruning and focused on rejuvenating and replenishment. Though quiet and soft-spoken, she could express profound truths in few words. Of all the Shard Gods, Ydalla was closest to Mortals, often walking among them, helping them tend land, helping mothers give birth.

Abilities

Ydalla was personally incredibly powerful, as all Shard Gods. In addition to incredible strength, agility, and toughness, her control over Spring gave her powers of healing, growth, and water.

Exarchs
