History

Bleak Gods came into existence not long after Acradia was settled in the early Dark Age, after Elves naturalized into Arcadians and eight of them ascended to become Strange Gods. They have been meddling in the affairs of Mortals ever since.

Cosmology

Bleak Gods are cosmologically very similar to other Strange Gods, gaining access to incredible power through some Strange insight or enlightenment. Their powers and abilities follow a sort of dream logic with respect to their origins and areas of interest.

One thing that differentiates Bleak Gods from other Strange Gods is their obsession with the costs of experience in various forms. As Eldritch Gods are obsessed with perception and cognition, and Lost Gods are obsessed with purpose, Bleak Gods are obsessed with costs, seeking to understand the burdens, scars, and losses associated with existing.

Society

Bleak Gods are tightly integrated with Arcadian society, making up the ruling class of of half of Arcadia.
