Fenrir was one of the few Gods to choose an inhuman form.

Overview

Fenrir (Old Nor \ˈfɛnrɪr\) was named for its association with ferocity and hunger. Lore about Fenrir is uncommon, as little is known about the origins of the Shard Gods. But a few creatures that knew it still exist, such as Servitors, Exarchs, and other Gods.

History

Like all Shard Gods, Fenrir came into existence at the dawn of the Shattered Age. He was awakened in the gloom of Grimhollow Cavern in the mountains of Stonewall.

One of his most notable achievements was his battle with The Mooneater, a Strange monster that threatened Acrolon in the early Shattered Age. Fenrir defeated the monster, saving Acrolon in the process.

After The Realm War, Fenrir instigated The First Godswar by murdering Wodhain. Wodhain scarred Fenrir in the battle, removing on of his eyes. He announced to the other Gods at his trial, "Wodhain's Pattern failed. Let this be the Pattern now: The strong decide." Fenrir went on to kill Thyr, though he lost a leg in the battle. Finally he killed Eir, but fell to a fatal wound inflicted by his final victim.

Description

Fenrir was one of the few Gods of The Integrum to adopt a non-humanoid avatar. It appeared as an enormous wolf, with a body the size of a small mountain. It's jaw opened unnaturally, full of large fangs that dripped with deadly venom. Its eyes glowed like two massive moons, and in its black fur were glints of light like stars in the night sky.

Personality

Fenrir's personality changed over the course of its existence. It started as a noble creature that exemplified self-reliance, self-determination, and individuality. But over time, its personality shifted. Self-reliance turned into self-importance. Self-determination turned into the subjugation of others. Individuality turned into a lack of empathy. It was after these changes grew most severe that Fenrir instigated The First Godswar.

Abilities

Like all Primarchs, Fenrir possessed incredible personal power, being supernaturally strong, fast, and tough. Additionally, as a God of Night, Fenrir possessed even more power associated with fear, darkness, and domination.

Exarchs

  • Vargund, The Beast. Fenrir's enforcer and primary soldier.
  • Drekkal, The Tyrant. Fenrir's political operative.
  • Skethra, The Spider. Fenrir's spymaster.
