Overview

Thyr (Nortongue \θɪr\) is a name with no semantic meaning. Lore about Thyr is rare and incomplete, as little is known of the origins of the Shard Gods.

History

Thyr awoke at the edge of a battlefield at the dawn of the Shattered Age. The battle of Nor waged, though no one in the battle could remember the cause of it.

In the early Shattered Age, the Fire Heart ruptured and creatures of Fury spilled into Acrolon, attacking the city of Skeldmere in Stonewall. Thyr dove into the rupture and fought for weeks while Gods and Heralds worked to seal the rupture. More at The Burning of Skeldmere.

During The First Godswar, Thyr killed Skathi after she killed Anyot and Lokhar. However, he lost his arm in the battle, as it was frozen solid and shattered. He was then killed by Fenrir, though the beast lost a leg for its efforts.

Description

Thyr appeared as a massive, muscular, dark-bronze-skinned warrior with a mane of thick, dark red hair that flowed like a bonfire. His eyes shimmered with golden-red light. His arms were corded with muscle and bore ancient runes. He fought bare-chested, wearing a skirt of crimson scales and red-hot plated boots. A long flowing leather cloak wrapped around his neck drifted behind him on the wind. He wielded a weapon called Vrandrak, the Flamejaw, a flaming spiked bone hammer. After his battle with Skathi, he wore a prosthetic left arm made of runed bronze forged by Anyot's Exarch, Aedifica.

Personality

Thyr was ruled by fierce loyalty, explosive anger, and unbreakable conviction. He believed that the purpose of strength was to shield the weak. He had little patience for hesitation, and often mistook caution for cowardice. He would scream with laughter in battle, weep over fallen companions, and punch anyone at the smallest slight.

Abilities

Thyr was personally incredibly powerful, as all Shard Gods. In addition to incredible strength, agility, and toughness, his control over Summer gave him powers of fire, movement, and passion.
