This category enumerates Strange Gods known as Bright Gods, associated with the Bright Courts of Arcadia.

Overview

Bright Gods ((Commontongue) are named for their association with the Bright Courts, known for a generally positive and pleasant disposition. However, like all Strange creatures, Bright Gods are not entirely safe to associate with. They are unpredictable and can be quite dangerous. Lore about Bright Gods is more common than other Strange Gods, as Bright Courts take an interest in Mortals.

History

Bright Gods came into existence not long after Acradia was settled in the early Dark Age, after Elves naturalized into Arcadians and eight of them ascended to become Strange Gods. They have been meddling in the affairs of Mortals ever since.

Cosmology

Bright Gods are cosmologically very similar to other Strange Gods, gaining access to incredible power through some Strange insight or enlightenment. Their powers and abilities follow a sort of dream logic with respect to their origins and areas of interest.

One thing that differentiates Bright Gods from other Strange Gods is their obsession with meaning in various forms. As Eldritch Gods are obsessed with perception and cognition, and Lost Gods are obsessed with purpose, Bright Gods are obsessed with meaning. They hope that emotion, beauty, and experience will complete them.

Society

Bright Gods are tightly integrated with Arcadian society, making up the ruling class of of half of Arcadia.
