Overview

The Contest Eternal (Enchiridian, Furytongue: Ulukaru, meaning ultimate battle), or more briefly the Contest, was the conflict for supremacy among the Titans during the Lost Age.

Lore about the Contest Eternal comes through the Primals that have survived. As the surviving groups of Primals are ancient enemies, it is difficult to reconcile their accounts through their biases, exaggerations, and deceptions.

Causes

Even the Titans are not confident in their understanding of where the Contest originally came from. The Contest was something from deep in their own history, lost to myth and legend. Beliefs about the origins of the Contest are as varied as the Titans themselves. Regardless of the cause, Titans are compelled to participate, merging power through a process of Consolidation.

Major Events

All of the major events of the Contest involve Consolidation. Consolidation events transform the universe in numerous and profound ways, creating and destroying entire realms, changing populations of Stormhearts and Realmlings, and altering the course of the Contest and the universe.

Consequences

It is understood that the Contest will continue until a single Titan emerges victorious. The goal of the Contest Eternal is for a Titan to rise as the single consciousness, the single will dominant over the entire universe through Consolidation. However, the natural course of the Contest was interrupted by the Foundation War.
