The Barren Court is one of the seven active Bright Courts of Arcadia, formed in the early Dark Age. It was founded by the Fey God, The Giving Queen, c. NIR 1400. It filled the Bright Quality vacancy caused by the dissolution of The Soft Court. The Court is one of the ten active Midnight Courts.

The Court is an exploration of the Strange Essence of Quality. It is founded on a philosophy of sacrifice. The Giving Queen believes that meaning is only by what you give of yourself. She is obsessed with generosity. The Court is populated by Pixies.
