Etymology

Consolidation (Enchiridian) is the process by which the number of Template:Category Titans is reduced and their power combined as part of the Contest Eternal.

Details

Dominion

This is the most common form of Consolidation, and the kind that most Titans prefer to engage in. This involves one Titan defeating another Titan in some form of the Contest. Sometimes this is a direct, violent confrontation between Titans. More commonly, the conflict is a proxy contest through machinations and manipulations of Immortals and Dragons. The victor of the conflict gains Dominion over the other, absorbing some or all of their power. The winners of Dominion typically retain their identity, though sometimes their personality or memories are altered slightly by the defeated Titan, especially if they were quite powerful as well.

Fragmentation

There is also a reversal of Consolidation, called Fragmentation. Fragmentation happens for a variety of reasons:

  • Dominion is not usually complete. Some remnants of the defeated Titan usually linger on. The identity, personality, and qualities of the fragmented Titan are all changed, essentially creating a new Titan from the remnants of the old. This is a form of Fragmentation.
  • Sometimes weaker Titans will set out to Fragment a Titan that is too strong for them to defeat through Dominion. If victorious, the result is Fragmentation.
