Dagon, Nightmare Beast

Overview

Dagon (Elftongue \ˈdeɪɡɔn\ for monster), also known as The Nightmare Beast, is named for its monstrous size and appearance. Like all Eldritch Gods, lore about Dagon is exceptionally rare and incomplete. The lore comes primarily from scholars who have studied the Obyrith and Eldritch Orisons.

History

Dagon, like all Eldritch Gods, is considered to be among the oldest Strange Gods. Dagon appeared in the universe during The Shattering.

Description

Dagon appears as a massive creature that would tower over the largest castles. It has three fish-like heads with numerous needle-like teeth. It's body is covered in large, sharp scales. It's eyes stare blankly, seemingly mindless.

Personality

Dagon, like all Eldritch Gods, cannot be said to have a coherent personality. Its only discernable motivation seems to be an obsession with fear and sound.

Orisons

Like all Eldritch Gods, it is not clear what draws Dagon's attention to a Mortal to create an Orison. All of Dagon's Orisons have physical deformities, but it is unclear if such deformity attracts Dagon's attention, or if Dagon's attention bestows corruption of the body.
