This category enumerates members of the species of Mortal called Humans.
Overview
Humans (Enchiridian, Old Nor: Nor \nɔr\) are the Mortals native to the Shard of Acrolon. Lore about Humans is plentiful and accurate, offered by scholars, Servitors, and Gods of The Integrum.
History
Humans as a Shard Species came into existence after The Shattering, at the dawn of the Shattered Age. It is believed that before The Shattering there was a single species, the Paragons (species) that split into the Shard Species.
In the early Shattered Age, Humans were the first species to become subject to Anyot's Curse, where mortals are subjected to bestial forms.
Humans also founded the Shared Horizon Accord, which became the foundation of the Empire of Acrolon.
Cosmology
Humans share the same cosmology as other Mortal species of The Integrum.
Society
Human societies are numerous and varied. The most noteworthy is probably The Concordia.
Ecology
Humans are born through typical methods of biological conjugation, combined with Spring rituals that summon a soul from the Rain Heart. They reach physical and mental maturity after 20-25 years of life. They typically stand between 1.5 and 1.8 meters in height and weigh between 45 and 85 kg. Their skin varies in shades from light tan to dark brown. Their eye color is most commonly dark brown, but rarely can be bright green or blue. Their hair can come in shades of red, brown, blond, and black, and combinations of those.
Like most creatures of The Integrum, they require food, water, air, and sleep. When they die, their souls descend into The Underworld of their current Shard, eventually reaching The Crucible.
Humans exposed to Fury magic are often killed or twisted into corrupted, monstrous shapes. Humans exposed to Strange magic are often driven insane or twisted into maddening, eldritch shapes.
Varieties
- Nor: The most common variety of Human.
- Vashar: A rare variety of Humans that were warped by Void Magic.
- Ferals: A common set of varieties of Humans afflicted by Anyot's Curse.
