Overview

Thyr (Old Nor \θɪr\) is a name with no semantic meaning. Lore about Thyr is rare and incomplete, as little is known of the origins of the Shard Gods.

History

Thyr awoke at the edge of a battlefield at the dawn of the Shattered Age. The battle of Nor waged, though no one in the battle could remember the cause of it.

In the early Shattered Age, the Fire Heart ruptured and creatures of Fury spilled into Acrolon, attacking the city of Skeldmere in Stonewall. Thyr dove into the rupture and fought for weeks while Gods and Heralds worked to seal the rupture. More at The Burning of Skeldmere.

During The First Godswar, Thyr killed Skathi after she killed Anyot and Lokhar. However, he lost his arm in the battle, as it was frozen solid and shattered. He was then killed by Fenrir, though the beast lost a leg for its efforts.

Description

Skathi appeared as an incredibly tall, muscular, and austere huntress. She had dark brown skin and medium length black hair. Her eyes gleamed white like balls of ice. She wore grey hide armor, a brown fur cloak, and dragon-scale boots and gloves. She wielded a Truemetal bow with Truecrystal tipped arrows.

Personality

Skathi was not cruel, but utterly merciless. She saw the world as a hostile place, and had no pity for weakness. She prized discipline, endurance, stoicism. She would rather let a child freeze than disrupt the cycle of Winter and Summer. She had no love for Mortals, a prejudice that Lokhar and Fenrir stoked.

Abilities

Skathi was personally incredibly powerful, as all Shard Gods. In addition to incredible strength, agility, and toughness, her control over Winter gave her powers of ice, stillness, and sorrow.

Exarchs

  • Jorund the Icebound]]: Meaning steed. The first Paragon of the Hunt. Slain in The First Godswar, protecting Skathi's retreat from Lucidus.
  • Svanna of the Long Silence: Meaning burn. A musician who gave up her art when her family was killed.
  • Kalthun Grimbane: Meaning cold and heavy. Fell in battle against Thyr. An ascetic hermit.
