Overview
Gods (Enchiridian) are the most powerful creatures of The Integrum, invested with Authority over the Grand Designs of The Apparatus. Lore about the Gods of The Integrum is plentiful and mostly accurate. They only bias comes from the fact that the Gods are the source of most of the lore about themselves. As the Gods have the deepest understanding of The Integrum, and thus they are the source of most lore about The Integrum, including themselves.
History
The Integral Gods have existed since the First Age, created by the Founders during The Foundation. Little is known about the original Gods of the First Age and Gilded Age, as none of those Gods still exist and no known creatures had direct interaction with them.
The first Gods of modern history were the Shard Gods. These Gods came into existence during The Shattering, when The Integrum was fractured into its current pluralistic shape. Most of the Shard Gods were destroyed during the Shattered Age, during either the The Shattering or The First Godswar.
The Founders then invested other creatures with the power of the Gods to replace the fallen Shard Gods. Most of the Gods of the modern age are these Gods.
Cosmology
Gods of The Integrum possess vast power over the natural world. This power comes from their attunement to Integral artifacts called a Prime Focus. The Prime Focus binds to the soul of an Integral creature and acts as a sort of access token to the functions of one of the Grand Designs of The Integrum.
Generally speaking, there is one Divine Focus for each Grand Design: Autumn, Day, Destiny, Form, Night, Pattern, Spring, Summer, and Winter, making each of these the domains of the Gods.
Society
Gods typically have a loose society of peers formed in each Shard, as they are tasked with the protection and management of The Integrum in each Shard. Gods of a domain sometimes form a loose society of association as well, particularly when they must cooperate for the sake of their domain across Shards.
Ecology
Gods do not participate in typical ecological systems of The Integrum. Their connection to power of The Apparatus infuses them with energies that grant immortality, sustenance, health, and strength. They do not need to eat, sleep, or breath. They are entirely sustained by the power of their Divine Focus.
